However, the entire park is worth taking a stroll through and checking out as it’s also the spot where the final version Louisiana Purchase was signed. The fate of the Andrew Jackson statue, who’s a problematic historical figure, is uncertain after the mayor’s recent efforts to remove other controversial monuments. This historical and well-manicured park is a must, located right next to the river you can get an incredible view and photo of the square from the platform across the street, this is one of the most famous New Orleans attractions in the French Quarter. It’s also one of the most photogenic things to do in New Orleans, and if you’re lucky you might just pass a live wedding procession like we did (pictured above).
